تحليل كفاءة الخدمات الترفيهية في وحدة بلدية الكرادة

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the reality of recreational services in the Al-Karrada municipal unit in terms of their number, types, and the area they occupy, as well as their efficiency in meeting the needs of the population according to local planning standards in Iraq. The study adopted the descriptive-analytical field approach, using the Nearest Neighbor principle (spatial proximity) and relying on the outputs of the ArcGIS 10.7.1 software for spatial analysis of services. The results revealed that the municipality provides 12 types of recreational services; however, it suffers from a severe shortage, particularly in parks and gardens (8), youth centers (17), libraries (6), sports fields (11), theaters (4), cinemas (0.6), and swimming pools (2). Conversely, there is a surplus in cafés, restaurants, event halls, and hotels amounting to (104, 72, 9, 55) respectively, in addition to an area deficit that affects the efficiency of the provided services. The findings indicate that this imbalance reflects an unequal distribution of services, and the study concludes with recommendations to improve the efficiency and distribution of these services in line with the needs of the population.
