Abstract
This research addresses an important historical period from 1520 to 1566, centered in Istanbul at the Topkapi Palace. The aim and motivation behind writing this research is to study the history of one of the most significant Ottoman sultans, and the subsequent expansion of the Ottoman Empire after his reign.
The research is composed of three chapters:
Chapter One discusses the life of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and the beginning of his rise to power, providing an overview of the key events in his life. Chapter Two focuses on the most significant internal conditions and disturbances within the empire, as well as the economic and social situations.
Chapter Three follows his major military campaigns in Europe and the Maghreb, his conflict with the Safavid state, his foreign relations, and the Ottoman–French alliance.
