Abstract

This research aims to provide a brief overview of the biography of the venerable lady Umm Farwah, Fatimah bint al-Qasim, a unique lady surrounded by virtues from all sides. She is the wife of Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (peace be upon him), the mother of Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), and the paternal grandmother of Imam Musa ibn Ja'far al-Kazim (peace be upon him). She lived during the caliphate of Amir al-Mu'minin Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), and his two grandsons Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn (peace be upon them), and his son Imam   Ali al-Sajjad (peace be upon him) in the early stages of her youth, and she narrated hadiths from him. She was one of the virtuous women of her time, famous for her merit and knowledge, and contributed to the preservation of the Islamic heritage. Lady Umm Farwah was influenced by the life of the Mother of the Believers Aisha (may God be pleased with her) and the life of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her), as they were among the righteous women in the Islamic society . these women have contributed to the transmission of knowledge and Islamic education, and the upbringing of generations on Islamic values. She belongs to one of the greatest houses in lineage, status, and position, having followed the path of the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Great Messenger (God's prayers and peace be upon him and his family).We divided this research into three sections: the first section covers her biography, the second section deals with her marriage to Imam al-Baqir (peace be upon him), and the third section addresses her status among Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). Perhaps one of the most prominent findings of our research is that Lady Umm Farwah played an important role in sending Islamic knowledge and heritage, instilled Islamic values and moral virtues in her two sons, Al-Sadiq and Abdullah, and had a great impact on the Islamic society.
