Abstract

This study explores the role of the writer May Ziadeh in Arab journalism through her articles published in Al-Muqatataf newspaper, focusing on her interest in issues of equality, women's empowerment, and child welfare. The research aims to analyze May Ziadeh’s social and ethical vision, her literary style in addressing these issues, and the extent of her influence on societal awareness during her era. The study employs descriptive, analytical, and historical-critical methods, with a contextual examination of the social and political status of women and children in the Arab society of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The study concludes that May Ziadeh played a significant role in promoting values of equality and social justice, opening avenues for women’s intellectual and social participation, while highlighting the importance of child protection and care.
