(Arabic Language and Cultural Communication: A Study of Lexical Exchange with Other Languages)

Abstract

Arabic is one of the most prominent languages ​​that has contributed to building cultural communication between nations throughout history. Its role has transcended mere expression and communication, becoming an effective means of transmitting sciences, thought, values, and human knowledge. Arabic was the language of science and culture during the Islamic Golden Age, a source of intellectual enlightenment that illuminated both East and West. It facilitated cultural interaction through the translation of Greek, Persian, and Indian heritage into Arabic, and then the transmission of this heritage to Europe during the Middle Ages, thus making it a bridge between cultures. It also served as a vehicle for the exchange of knowledge in medicine, philosophy, astronomy, mathematics, and all other human and natural sciences. The role of Arabic is not limited to the past; it extends into the present as an element of the cultural identity of the Arab world and a tool for communication with other cultures in the age of globalization. Today, Arabic contributes to intercultural dialogue through scientific institutions, cultural forums, and media platforms that disseminate Arab and Islamic thought in multiple languages.  Cultural communication through the Arabic language is not merely a linguistic exchange, but rather an intellectual and cultural interaction that contributes to establishing the values ​​of tolerance, understanding, and mutual respect among peoples, and affirms the universality of the humanitarian message carried by the Arabic language.
