Paradox in the Poetry of Khalaf Dalf Al-Hadithi The Collection What Has Fallen from My Pain as a Model

Abstract

Paradox is considered one of the most significant artistic, aesthetic, and stylistic features in Arabic poetry, particularly in modern poetry, being a contemporary term specifically associated with modern Arabic literature. It encompasses several types according to scholarly studies, including pictorial, verbal, intertextual, and antithetical paradox. Given this diversity, our study focuses on the poet Khalaf Dalf Al-Hadithi, whose numerous poetry collections reflect his rich cultural and linguistic reservoir. I found the collection What Has Fallen from My Pain to be a rich subject warranting an independent study. The collection is replete with ideas and visions that carry life's contradictions and their defamiliarizing paradoxes, whether at the level of language or imagery. It represents the culmination of a life experience filled with astonishing techniques of artistic creativity, arousing the reader's wonder, drawing them into that creative realm, and prompting them to contemplate the texts and their themes, thereby exploring their aesthetics in order to present the paradoxes within them.
