The Effectiveness of Color within Abstract Structures: The Works of Khader Jirjis as a Model

Abstract

This research presents a specialized aesthetic and artistic study on "the effectiveness of color within abstract structure," taking the works of the Iraqi visual artist Khader Jirjis as a model for application. In order to understand the aesthetic role of color in shaping meaning and formal reduction within the abstract school of art in the works of the artist Khader Jerjis, the researcher studied this effectiveness and divided it into four chapters. The first chapter addressed the research problem and defined it in the following question: (What is the effectiveness of color within the abstract structure, using the works of Khader Jerjis as a model?) In addition, the importance of the research as an aesthetic study concerned with fine art and the effectiveness of color within abstract frameworks, and the objective of the research, which is (to reveal the effectiveness of color within the abstract structure, using the works of Khader Jerjis as a model), in addition to defining the scope of the research and defining the terms used in the research topic. In the second chapter, the theoretical framework, the researcher divided it into two sections. The first section dealt with the concept of color structure in painting, and the second section dealt with the concept of abstract structure. The second chapter concluded with the indicators that emerged from the theoretical framework. In the third chapter, the research procedures, the researcher addressed the research population, which is the number of paintings by the artist Khader Jerjis from the nineties, and the research sample, which consists of three paintings that the researcher selected systematically and methodically. The research included descriptive and analytical elements, as well as research tools. In Chapter Four, the researcher presented the research results, conclusions, recommendations, suggestions, a list of sources and references, and an abstract in both Arabic and English.
