Abstract

The Holy Kaaba, the Qibla of Muslims, was magnified by God Almighty in His Holy Book, and by the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in his blessed Sunnah, both in word and deed. He spoke of its greatness and circumambulated it in worship and veneration. It remains the object of the hearts' longing. God Almighty stated that this Kaaba is His Sacred House and the first house established for mankind. Was this the first house in terms of worship or in terms of being the first building on Earth?

The Holy Verse alludes to its primacy, and the Companions, the Successors, and the scholars after them differed in their interpretations of this primacy. We have sought to illuminate this verse and glean its blessed light by studying the verse that speaks of the primacy of the Sacred House. From it, we have discerned the greatness of the House, the guidance it contains, and the blessings that emanate from it, which befall all who circumambulate it, pray within it, or gaze upon it. Every connection with it demonstrates the worship for which God Almighty has magnified this House, which remains the Qibla of Muslims until the end of time
