Abstract

Since the historical relations between the United States and the Soviet Union and South Africa, the varying interests of the two superpowers have shaped their policy towards the South African regime. The United States wanted to dominate South Africa politically. It also tried to maintain the export of minerals from South Africa, and feared the Soviet Union would interfere. The US had its political, economic and strategic interests towards South Africa. On the other hand, the Soviet Union also wanted to control South Africa, and it also had its political, economic and strategic interests with South Africa. On the other hand, gaining new African countries to the Soviet Union and communism, which was not accepted by the United States of America, was the competition between the United States and the Soviet Union is the main engine in the Forming each other's foreign policy towards South Africa, any solution has sought to strengthen their influence in South Africa in various ways.
