Employing reverse engineering in generating industrial product shapes
Main Article Content
Abstract
A lot of research has addressed the applications of reverse engineering in the development or reproduction of industrial products, but it did not address the applications of reverse engineering in generating shapes and using them in designing new industrial products that formed the structure of the current study problem while the goal of the study was to achieve the following hypothesis: Using reverse engineering to generate New forms and their employment in industrial products. This study discussed the discussion of three previous studies and compared them with the current study. As for the theoretical framework, it contained the concept of reverse engineering, a mechanism and the reasons for its use, general operations and reverse engineering stages, while the research procedures, which included taking an intentional sample of the artist’s face ( Angelia Jolie) and applying reverse engineering mechanisms to generate new shapes. These shapes were employed in design proposals for industrial products, and the most important results of the study were:
1- A series of new shapes with a single live or non-live reference can be generated using reverse engineering applications to design various industrial products.
2- The industrial product achieved using reverse engineering has a physical reference (live or non-living) that helps the product in the marketing process.
