Abstract

     The current research aims to identify the level of each of (psychological needs and self-control) of the research sample, and to identify the differences in the two variables with the demographic variables of the research (gender, specialization, stage) The correlation between psychological needs and self-contrtol, and for the purpose of achieving the research goals The development of the (Deci & Ryan, 2000) scale prepared for psychological needs in addition to reviewing the theoretical frameworks and previous studies of psychological needs. The researcher adopted the (Khafaji, 2002) scale for self-control, and the two scales were applied to (128) students from the third and fourth stage at Salah al-Din University / Erbil, after they were randomly selected, and by using the SPSS statistical bag, the researcher reached the following results: the low level of psychological needs and self-control of the research sample, the absence of statistically significant differences in the psychological needs variable with the demographic variables of the research, and the presence of statistically significant differences between self-control and each of Specialization and the stage in favor of scientific specialization and the fourth stage and the absence of differences in the gender variable with regard to self-control, and in the end the researcher reached a number of recommendations and abominations Rest
