Abstract

The Environmental Impact assessment of water uses is one of the contemporary and strategic mechanisms to ensure the required balance between the environment and development, and it forms the main pillar for the success of planning for water resources and achieving sustainable development. The urgent need to assess the environmental impact of water uses has recently started with deterioration and scarcity of water and the emergence of many environmental problems that hinder development efforts in the absence of taking environmental considerations into account as one of the safety controls for the development plan. The study showed that mismanagement and rational exploitation of water resources have negative effects represented by damaging water resources in terms of quantity and quality. The study recommends the necessity of optimal use. For water, in a manner and methodology, by taking into account environmental considerations in water uses
