The reality of open spaces and their spatial dimension in Al-Tujar neighborhood (Field research)

Abstract

The research focused on studying the open spaces as an important and integral part of the city design. Its concepts, importance and classification were explained. And conducting a field study of the neighborhood of merchants, which is one of the neighborhoods of the city of Baghdad, and doing a description of the reality of the spaces in it to be a model for the reality of these spaces in the neighborhoods of Baghdad, especially on the side of Rusafa, because of the similarity of its neighborhoods. Conclusions and recommendations can be generalized in order to address the problem of open spaces in built-up areas, or taken into consideration when designing and planning modern cities.
