The Melodic and Rhythmic Structure of the Al-Manqaba Al-Nabaweya Genre in the City of Baghdad

Abstract:

This research consists of four chapters. The first includes; the research’s problem, importance of the study and its goals. The second chapter consists of two main topics; the first explores the role of music and singing in public life and how it has been applied to religious rituals. The second topic deals with multi types of Al-Manqaba Al-Nabaweyagenres in Baghdad city, types of occasions that Al-Manqaba Al-Nabaweya is performed in, and the most prominent musical scales that used in the Al-Manqaba Al-Nabaweya.The third chapter embraces the research procedures and the samples of the study. Finally, the fourth chapter includes the results of the musical analysis, conclusions, suggestions, recommendations and a list of the study sources.
