Abstract

The world is witnessing a new reality characterized by dynamic and rapid changes as a result of the quick developments and alterations that have taken place in the world economy. The developments in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools, technologies and methods have led to increase the interest in the information production, storage, handling in the suitable time and the right format to help leaders in making reliable decisions in order to contribute in advancing economic development. The new technological developments have generated new economic ideas and concepts that have made knowledge play a key role in generating, enhancing and developing wealth by developing and improving the performance, increasing productivity and reducing costs. This will help in the emergence of a new economy; " knowledge economy". Its characteristics and concepts are building a good scientific foundation and its principles are expanding against the traditional economy. Knowledge in the knowledge economy has become the main focus of economic competition and success factors.


The aim of this research is to demonstrate the role of transformational leadership and knowledge derived from data and information using ICT techniques and means to develop and improve the quality of decisions and their impact on the investment horizon that achieve successful economic development in the knowledge economy and the digital information era.
