The effectiveness of a group counseling program based on behavioral theory in reducing psychological anxiety and social withdrawal among divorced women in Jordan

Abstract
Divorce is one of the most important social, psychological and economic problems that threaten the family and society. Studies have indicated the negative effects of divorce on the family in general and women in particular. Divorce is a phenomenon known since ancient times, because the human soul has a tendency towards hate or love, just as it has a tendency towards evil or good. In the human psyche also the phenomenon of fluctuation in feelings and sensations, which result from multiple factors. So; The Islamic religion worked to consolidate the relationship of the man with the woman, and established this relationship on balance, mercy, affection, and accommodation between the spouses. Islam legitimized divorce, with conditions, and made it permissible for a person to resort to it only in extreme necessity, and when matters reach the path of no return between the spouses (Al-Kubaisi, 2003).
