A study of the incidence of Repeat Breeding Syndrome (RBS) in cows and buffaloes in some villages around the city of Baghdad

Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the incidence of Repeat Breedingsyndrom (RBS) in cattle and Buffalo Cows to resolute and correct thes disorders for those two important animals in Iraq . The study was carried out (257) cattle Cows during 2011 and ( 290) during 2012 and (383) local water buffalo Cows ( Bubalusbubalis ) during 2011 and (404) during 2012 in some villages around Baghdad (Al- Fudalea , Nisan  and Basmaia ) wher animals were reared . Case history , clinical examination for reproductive status wer documented by private clinics during  (2011 – 2012) . Results revealed that (RBS) incidence percentage in catte  was (19.8% , 17.2%) during    (2011 , 2012) respectively . Whereas it was (17.49% , 15.6%) during (2011,2012) respectively  in buffalo Cows , Highly significant differences   (P ≤ 0.01) between species was observed yearly and Low significant differences   (P ≤ 0.05)in  some months during the years of  study . We concluded that (RBS) in two species in moderate case with comparied with other countries . The (RBS) difference between species  relate mangmant programs and enrirometal   changes may lead to monthy and yearly differences in (RBS)
