The Muslim Arabs populated the cities at a very early age, as they were about to conquer
Iraq and Egypt during the time of Caliph Omar Ibn Al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him), until they laid the foundations
Four cities. Cities continued to be built until the following Islamic eras.
The purpose of building major cities differed, with some differences from one city to another
The first motive for building Islamic cities was the military purpose, to establish the soldiers.
And when the Abbasids took Iraq as the seat of their state, they began looking for a capital for this state.
Baghdad was chosen to be the capital of the Abbasid caliphate. Al-Mansur planned and named the city
