Abstract

Natural factors are among the most important factors affecting agricultural production, which control the determination of the quantity of agricultural product. The study aims to explain the thermal requirements for growing lentils and what are the thermal potentials available in Mosul Governorate, based on climate data for the period (1989 - 2018) in order to know the effect of temperature on lentil cultivation in the governorate. The research revealed that the study area is one of the areas in which the climate is suitable. To grow lentils, it has also become clear that the ideal period for the crop to grow is between the month of November and the second of April. The research showed that temperature is the most important climatic element that greatly affects the cultivation and production of lentils.
