Abstract

The thesis aimed to prepare and apply educational units according to the social cognitive model. And to identify the effect of the social cognitive model in learning some basic skills among second-year middle school students in football. And to identify the superiority of the experimental and control research groups in learning some basic skills. The researcher used the experimental method because it is consistent with the nature of the problem and the objectives of the research. The researcher deliberately determined the research community from a sample of second-grade students at Balat Al-Shuhada Intermediate School for Boys in the Baghdad Education Directorate, Karkh / Second, for the academic year 2024-2025 AD, numbering 85 students distributed into 3 sections. The research sample was selected by lottery (regular random) from students of Section A and students of Section B, with 15 students for each group, and students of Section C, on whom exploratory experiments were conducted. Thus, the research sample percentage constitutes 35.29% of the community. The researcher proceeded with the research procedures represented by determining a test and approving the methodological skills of the football subject for second-grade intermediate students, in addition to extracting the scientific conditions for the tests and exploratory experiments. After that, the researcher conducted the pre-test and educational units were prepared according to the social cognitive model, with a number of 16 educational units, at a rate of one educational unit per week and a time of 45 minutes for the educational units. After that, the appropriate statistical methods were used that led the researcher to scientific results on which the researcher built conclusions, the most important of which is the contribution of using the social cognitive model in enhancing learners' self-confidence And their ability to control their learning path. The social cognitive model provides students with the opportunity to continuously evaluate themselves throughout the learning stages, which helps them discover and correct errors, which leads to improving their skills and overall progress. The most important recommendations of the research are: It is recommended to design educational units based on the social cognitive model to enhance students' self-regulated learning skills, which helps them improve their self-confidence and manage their learning path efficiently. Including physical education teachers with self-assessment activities in educational practices, which enables students to discover errors and adjust their performance, which contributes to improving their skills.
