Abstract
The study aimed to determine the effect of using the mathematics laboratory in providing sixth-grade primary school students with geometric concepts in the city of Mosul. The research sample consisted of (50) sixth-grade primary school students at Al-Furatin School for Boys in the city of Mosul for the academic year 2023-2024.
The research sample was divided into two groups, one experimental and the other control, and teaching was done
The experimental group, according to the mathematics laboratory, includes (25) students, and the control group, which was taught engineering concepts in the usual way, includes (25) students.
To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher prepared an achievement test for engineering concepts, which in its final form consists of (12) items. The validity and reliability of the scale was verified using appropriate methods.
After implementing the research experiment, the results showed the following"":
"There is a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the average grades of the students of the experimental group who studied according to the mathematics laboratory and the grades of the control group who studied according to the usual method".
The researcher concluded that there is an impact of using the mathematics laboratory in imparting geometric concepts to sixth-grade primary school students. The researcher suggested conducting future research on the effect of the mathematics laboratory in imparting geometric concepts to all academic levels due to its importance and thus achieving the objectives of the mathematics curriculum.
