Arabic Literature According to an Analytical Study of Symbols and Symbolism in Classical

Abstract

           Literature and its role in poetry have followed the path of symbolism and allegory, influenced by many poets of this literary genre. This literary genre has brought together a large elite of poets who have not abandoned the purity of symbolism and allegory in style and subject matter. This study explores symbolism and allegory in ancient classical Arabic poetry, as an important literary theme. This study has a short and unique introduction, exploring the symbolism and allegory that were popular in Iraq in 1941. For various political reasons, many poets used it as an indirect means of expressing their passion. This study also explores the concept of symbolism and allegory in language and the data of ancient classical Arabic poetry through poets' familiarity with myths and their use in most poems, such as the poets Zuhair, Imru' Qais, and others. However, symbols did not become an influential concept until the Abbasid era, with the poet Bashar ibn Burd, who broke with the rules of familiar language and entered the world of sensory analogy, meaning that all the senses are capable of producing symbols. The study also addresses Arab poets who were influenced by the new symbolic literary data coming from outside the country, such as Said Akl, Adeeb Mazhar, Mahmoud Hassan Ismail, and Youssef Ghosoub, and cites examples of their poetry. It has a special topic entitled "Symbolism in Iraqi Poetry," and cites Al-Shabibi, Al-Haboubi, and others, in addition to Safaa Al-Haidiari, Hasiab Al-Sheikh Jaaifar, Abidul Razizaq Abdul Wiahid, and othiers, to pirove that Iraqi poeitry was not far from wihat was gioing on around it.
