Similarities and Differences between Philosophy and Theology

Abstract

The science of theology today is indispensable to Islamic philosophy in order to renew the relationship between the mind and the text، or between philosophy and religion a relationship that plays a role in renewing theology in a way that enables it to defend Islam in light of the new challenges facing it as a creed، Sharia، and symbols. This research deals with ((the alliance and the difference between philosophy and theology)) the extent of convergence and divergence between the two sciences It consisted of an introduction and two sections، the first topic consists of two demands، the first requirement includes the theoretical concepts of the title of the research، and the second requirement includes the alliance between philosophy and theology in terms of convergence in the issues examined by the two sciences. The second topic consists of two demands، the first includes the difference between philosophy and theology And the second requirement shows how Islamic philosophy served Islamic theology in the era of Muslims’ openness to the world’s civilizations، by conquering countries، or by translating Greek philosophy books، then the conclusion showed that the need for philosophy became necessary in an era in which issues were distorted and problems were multiplied. Hands rushed to abolish religion and man، and the challenges facing Muslims became more diverse and more dangerous، and philosophical sciences could no longer be abandoned. After the materialist philosophies threatened the religion as a whole، the materialist philosophies presented alternatives that attract the common people and confuse them with their religion، in an attempt to cut the relationship between religion and man.
