Visual thinking among students of Arabic language departments in colleges of education

Abstract

The aim of the current research is to identify the level of visual thinking among students of Arabic language departments in colleges of education for the humanities.To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher chose a sample of (150) students from three colleges: the Arabic Language Department in the Ibn Rushd College of Education for Humanities at the University of Baghdad, the Arabic Language Department in the College of Education at Al-Mustansiriya University, and the Arabic Language Department in the College of Education at the Iraqi University, with (50) male and female students from each college.The researcher relied on the visual thinking test prepared by the researcher (Mahdi, 2006), which consisted of (40) multiple-choice questions distributed among (5) visual thinking skills

After applying the test to the research sample, the researcher concluded that the level of visual thinking of students in Arabic language departments in colleges of education was not acceptable, as the result using the t-test for one sample showed that the hypothetical mean of the test was higher than the sample mean, which indicates the presence of a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05).
