Background and Problem: The impetus for this research arises from the observed decline in general performance within secondary schools. Given the researcher’s professional expertise in the educational sector, and in light of the intensifying competitive environment—coupled with rapid advancements in knowledge and information technology—there is an urgent need to modernize educational institutions. Developing new work methodologies is essential to keep pace with these global shifts. Consequently, this study explores the pivotal role of leadership behavior and its correlation with the educational and organizational climate, as perceived by the teaching staff.
Objectives and Methodology: The primary objective of this study is to identify the levels of leadership behavior from the perspective of the teaching faculty within the Baghdad Governorate’s Directorate of Education. To achieve this, the researcher employed a descriptive-analytical correlational methodology. The research sample comprised 130 educators (75 males and 55 females). Data collection was conducted via a structured questionnaire designed by the researcher, which addressed two main axes: the first evaluating leadership behavior dimensions and the second focusing on the organizational climate.
Key Findings: Through the application of rigorous statistical analysis, the research established the following results:
- Intellectual Skills: A statistically significant relationship exists between leadership behavior (as an intellectual skill) and the organizational climate.
- Human Skills: A statistically significant relationship exists between leadership behavior (as a human skill) and the organizational climate.
- Technical Skills: A statistically significant relationship exists between leadership behavior (as a technical skill) and the organizational climate.
- Digital Skills: A statistically significant relationship exists between leadership behavior (as a digital skill) and the organizational climate. Recommendations and Suggestions:
In light of thase findinges, the research concludes with a set of racommendationes and suggestions aimed at enhancing leadership behaviors and improving the organizational climate within educational institutions.
