Abstract

This research aimed to identify the impact of the inquiry board strategy on developing creative writing skills among second-year intermediate school students. To achieve this objective, the researcher formulated the following hypothesis: "There are no statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level between the mean scores of the experimental group students who studied written expression using the inquiry board strategy and the mean scores of the control group students who studied the same subject using the traditional method in the creative writing skills test." The researcher adopted an experimental approach for this research. The quasi-experimental design, a two-group (experimental and control) post-test design, was employed. The research population consisted of second-year intermediate school students in government-run daytime intermediate and secondary schools for girls in the Baghdad Al-Karkh Third Directorate of Education. The researcher randomly selected Al-Azza Intermediate School for Girls as the research sample, ensuring equivalence between the two groups. The researcher developed a creative writing skills test as the research instrument and verified its validity and reliability. After administering the test, the results showed a statistically significant difference at the 0.05 level in the creative writing skills test. For the benefit of the experimental group, and in light of this, the researcher recommended several measures, including:

1- Experimenting with the inquiry board strategy to develop critical thinking and reading comprehension.

2- Training Arabic language teachers to master strategies for teaching creative writing skills.

She also suggested several proposals, including:

1- Studying the effectiveness of the inquiry board strategy in developing critical thinking.

2- Studying the effectiveness of the inquiry board strategy in developing reading comprehension.
