Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of modern technology in teaching history by identifying how teachers use technology in lesson planning, analyzing methods of integrating it into content delivery, and investigating its impact on student engagement. It also evaluates the extent to which technology is used to measure student performance and academic achievement. Additionally, the study seeks to identify the obstacles teachers face in using technology and to measure the educational impact of these tools in teaching history. The study contributes to enriching the academic literature by analyzing the impact of technological tools such as presentations, simulations, and digital games on history education, while also offering innovative solutions to overcome challenges faced by teachers, such as lack of training and time constraints.

The study is limited to secondary schools in the Al-Adhamiya district of Baghdad and includes a sample of 10 secondary school teachers. The findings reveal that modern technology significantly enhances students' understanding of historical events, makes the subject more engaging, and develops students' research and analytical skills. However, teachers face challenges such as insufficient training and limited technological resources, which hinder the full utilization of these tools.
