The Corona pandemic and its implications for the intellectual stress of graduate students as a model

Abstract

The current research aims to study the Corona pandemic and its relationship to intellectual stress among graduate students as a model. The sample consisted of (150) male and female students, of (75) students and (75) postgraduate students studying at Al-Mustansiriya University, College of Basic Education for the Scientific and Human Departments for the academic year (2020-2021), The researcher talked about the Corona pandemic in terms of its location, its causes and the resulting damages, as well as the meaning of the pandemic and the meaning of the Corona virus and the tension, anxiety and stress it causes in addition to the stress experienced by graduate students. The researcher adopted the scale of intellectual stress (Al-Mousawi 2012), The results showed that the research sample had intellectual stress attributed to the pandemic on the one hand, On the other hand, to the nature of the materials and their difficulty in relation to the sample members, and there are no differences according to the male-female gender variable, but there were differences according to the variable of specialization, and in favor of the scientific specialization, and the reason was attributed in addition to the existence of the Corona pandemic and its spread to the difficulty of scientific materials, which suffers From it the students, and the research came out with a set of recommendations and suggestions.
