The role of illustrations in promoting children's visual culture

Abstract

With the increase in the large flow of information, and the development that has included individuals and societies due to what modern technologies have achieved, keeping pace with this requires a lot of work and effort in order to catch up with what is emerging, there are satellite channels, newspapers, magazines, tablet computer technologies, etc. All of the illustrations that constitute a visual corner required by children as they are in harmony with their senses and tendencies. These drawings, which are among the applications of contemporary graphic design, presented and present every day various patterns of visual dialogue close to the mentality and perceptions of children, through which various guiding stories and tales are presented. Illustration technique depends on children’s perceptions. Hence, the current research discusses the illustrations and their capabilities in shaping the child’s awareness, the mainstay of the future, based on the following question    :


- What role do illustrations play in promoting a child's visual culture? Which the researchers see as a question that calls for searching for answers to it, and the importance of the research is in the possibility of its contribution to the development of the cognitive and applied dimension for workers in the field of illustrations for children, as well as the development of the educational dimension for those working in school affairs, as we refer to the goal of the research, which lies in knowing The role of illustrations in enhancing the visual culture of the child, and the limitations of the research lie in the early and school stages of the child
