Abstract

The research aims at know the possession among a sample of  female students in the third intermediate grade average to the patter thinking in mathematical and Its relationship to academic achievement m to achieve the research  aims and test the  hypotheses ,  the researcher used the descriptive research methodology and constructed  a test to measure the patter thinking in mathematical consisted of (20) items distributed to four patter thinking which are (yisual , deductive , critical and creative) , the validity of the  inner consistency of the test and the results were range between (0.56 – 0.92) and reliability (0.86) , and adopted half-year exam grades to measure academic achievement . After applying the test on the sample of the research which consist of (260) female students in the third intermediate grade average , and processing the data statistically, the researcher found the following results:

  • The third intermediates school grade (sample research) acquire patter thinking in mathematical but decreasing its level , the percentage value was (51 %) ,the visual thinking came in the first place among all other fourth patter thinking in mathematical by percentage (68%) and both (deductive , critical) thinking came after it respectively by percentage (62%) , finally the creative thinking by percentage (39%) .

  • A positive correlation was found between the fourth patter thinking , and between both patter with a degree of the test .

  • There is a correlation relationship between each pPatter from the fourth patter thinking in mathematical and a degree of the test With academic achievement among a sample research , and its an effect on academic achievement, the percentage value of for patter thinking in mathematical on academic achievement was (0.21) and (d) was (1.03) .
