Abstract

The British occupation authorities of Iraq during World War I (1914-1918) imposed their administrative and military control over its administrative institutions that were left by the Ottomans after their withdrawal from it, and as a means to organize their economic and military interests in Iraq, and prevented the people of the country from participating in the administration of their country with it.
This approach continued until the revolution of 1920, which forced Britain to change its policy in Iraq, so it worked to form the first interim Iraqi government headed by Abd al-Rahman al-Naqib so as not to lose control. They cannot take a decision without consulting the British advisor.
