The technique of repetition in the poetry of Salih ibn al-Arandas al-Hilli (d. 840 AH) – Analytical study –

Abstract

    This study deals with a prominent stylistic phenomenon in the poetry of Ibn al-Arandas, as it contributes to the formation of the semantic and rhythmic structure in the selected poem. The study aims to define the concept of repetition, reveal its manifestations in the selected poem, and analyze its effect on the formation of the internal music of the poetic texts. The study adopted the analytical method in the poem based on observing the style of repetition in the examples of Ibn al-Arandas, analyzing what it performs in terms of musical and semantic functions, and highlighting the emotional experience that Ibn al-Arandas expresses. It also concluded that repetition added a moral dimension to the poem, and a resonant rhythmic tone that pleases the ears .
