The Effect of Employing Artificial Intelligence Techniques in Teaching Analytical Reading Skills in Arabic Language

Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the impact of employing artificial intelligence (AI) techniques in developing analytical reading skills among secondary school students in the Arabic language subject. The researcher adopted a quasi-experimental design with two groups: an experimental group that was taught using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Quillionz, and text analysis platforms, and a control group that received traditional instruction.The study sample consisted of 40 fourth-year secondary students, equally divided between the two groups. An analytical reading skills test was constructed to measure competencies such as inference, distinguishing between fact and opinion, evaluating arguments, and analyzing logical relationships. Pre- and post-tests were administered, and results showed statistically significant differences in favor of the experimental group (p < 0.05), with a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 1.41).The findings confirmed the effectiveness of integrating AI technologies in enhancing students’ analytical reading skills, supporting the need to incorporate such tools in modern Arabic language classrooms. The study concluded with recommendations for curriculum development, teacher training, and the design of intelligent learning environments.
