Social Phobia in Drug Addicts
Main Article Content
Abstract
The current research aimed to identify social phobia among drug addicts. The current research focused on drug addicts registered in drug rehabilitation centers affiliated with the Ministry of Interior during the year (2024-2025), numbering (501) addicts out of a total population of (2,151) convicted addicts registered in these centers. The research sample consisted of (400) addicts. To achieve the research objectives, the researchers constructed a "Social Phobia" scale consisting of (30) items, five domains, and three alternatives. The validity of the scale was verified after it was presented to a group of judges specialized in measurement, evaluation, psychological counseling, and educational guidance. The researchers used the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program to analyze the data. The results indicated the presence of social phobia among drug addicts. Considering the research results, the research produced a set of recommendations and proposals, the most important of which is the adoption of the Social Phobia Scale as a primary diagnostic tool in drug rehabilitation centers, given its ability to accurately detect levels of social phobia among addicts.
