Abstract

Arabic calligraphy has been aesthetically and philosophically linked to Islam and its teachings, highlighting its role in expressing the cultural and spiritual values ​​of Islamic civilization. This research explores the concept of Arabic calligraphy, its origins, and its historical development, focusing on the aesthetic qualities that characterize this art form, such as balance, harmony, rhythm, and coherence. The research also delves into the philosophical influence of Arabic calligraphy and its relationship to Islamic thought, in addition to examining the spiritual symbolism of Arabic letters and their role in artistic expression. The research concluded that Arabic calligraphy represents a cultural art form that combines beauty and meaning, and that it has significantly contributed to shaping aesthetic taste in Islamic culture. It continues to hold importance in contemporary arts. The research consists of four chapters. Chapter One: Problem Statement, Objectives, Significance of the Research, Temporal and Spatial Boundaries, and Definition of Terms Linguistically, Technically, and Procedurally. Chapter Two: Two Sections: The Origins of Arabic Calligraphy and The Aesthetic Dimension of Arabic Calligraphy. Chapter Three: The Research Population, Methodology, Instruments, and Sample Analysis. The research sample consisted of three models. Chapter Four: Results, Conclusions, Recommendations, and Suggestions. The research concludes with a bibliography.
