Abstract

Self-insight arises from an objective view of the self, that is, the individual is freed from self-deception, has the ability to manage new situations, is flexible and loves exploration, is able to benefit from his previous experiences, and has self-confidence and sensitivity towards others.  Insight comes from awareness of the self in which individuals’ experience is included, as it develops over time such that the self becomes able to confront the actions it experiences and take action. The right decisions.

Studies have shown that the person who is most open to experiences and most creative is the person who has high insight into himself. Therefore, there is importance for the creative personality and their influence on the person being more responsive For urgent things, more alert, and more sensitive to the environmen

Self-insight also affects the goals that the individual sets for himself, as it represents the first aspect of cognitive achievement that should be linked to the growth of other basic perceptions about the world (Al-A’sidah, 1993: 95), and it affects social activities and the individual’s psychological and social compatibility. Misadjustment arises.  From their inability to gain insight into themselves (Qasim, 1998: 148).  The slow development of self-awareness is a reason for enhancing violent behavior, as the individual who lacks self-awareness often deliberately uses violence against himself or against any other person (Buckley, 2004:71).

The current research aims to identify self-insight among middle school students, and in order to verify this, the researcher built a self-insight scale consisting of (35) distributed over five domains in its final form, and after confirming the psychometric properties of the scale, the tool was applied to a sample of (320).  Female students were chosen intentionally from a group of middle schools affiliated with the Baghdad Al-Rusafa First Education Directorate for the academic year 202-2023.
