Educational conditions in Beirut state during the Ottoman occupation 1846-1909

Abstract
Education in Beirut during the Ottoman occupation relied on private schools and some schools in mosques, and witnessed a simple development after the issuance of some laws on education, and developed after the establishment of public schools and schools of sects in Lebanon, and then education witnessed progress after the establishment of charities that took care of education for both sexes, including the Makassed Islamic Association, and the schools were not limited to the primary stage, but extended to the later stages.
