Abstract

The current research aims to identify the concept of social development, the reasons leading to drug abuse, and the detection of the extent of the impact of development goals in reducing abuse. The research community consisted of 300 members of the sample who were randomly selected university professors.


The researcher used a questionnaire consisting of three areas whose validity and content were verified through honesty and consistency.


The main findings of the study are that the psychological and social causes lead some adolescents and young people to take drugs, and the results showed that social development programs and plans have an effective role in reducing the phenomenon of abuse.


In light of the above, the research leads to a set of recommendations that may contribute to reducing the phenomenon of drug abuse in society.
