Abstract

The aim of the study is to prepare educational units based on the Whitley Strategy to teach the lunge skill in foil fencing to first-year students. The researcher hypothesized that the educational units developed would have a positive effect on learning the lunge skill in foil fencing among first-year students. To achieve the research objectives and address the research problem, the researcher employed the experimental method. The research population was deliberately selected, while the sample was chosen randomly using a lottery. The sample consisted of first-year students from the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, totaling 153 students divided into five classes. Two sections were randomly selected to serve as the experimental and control groups. The researcher concluded that the educational units based on the Whitley Strategy had a positive impact on learning the lunge skill in foil
