The Role Of Imam Ali's Covenant To Malik Al-Ashtar In Establishing An Integrated Knowledge-Based Society
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper explores Imam Ali’s Covenant to Malik al-Ashtar as a pioneering model for a humanistic and educational vision to build an integrated knowledge society. The study posits that the Covenant establishes a triadic interrelation of foundational justice, diversity management, and political accountability as structural prerequisites for sustainable knowledge production rather than as mere outcomes. Findings reveal that justice precedes knowledge, diversity serves as an enrichment source, and accountability ensures the sustainability of the knowledge environment, aligning with UNESCO standards, human capabilities theory, and Rawlsian justice, despite differences in philosophical foundations. The study concludes that the Covenant’s vision can inform contemporary educational and social policies through a critical approach linking heritage and modernity.
