Geography Teachers' Attitudes Towards Artificial Intelligence Applications in Education

Abstract

This research aimed to identify the level of attitudes among geography teachers in preparatory schools towards the use of AI applications in education, and to explore differences based on gender (male/female) and years of experience (less than 10 years/ 10 years and more) Methodology: The researcher adopted a descriptive analytical approach. An attitude scale consisting of (25) items was applied to a random sample of (150) teachers in the Baghdad/ Al-Rusafa 2 Education Directorate for the academic year 2025-2026.  Main Results. 1 Geography teachers hold high positive attitudes towards AI applications, with a mean score of (3.85) 2.,There are no statistically significant differences in attitudes attributed to the gender variable.3.There are statistically significant differences attributed to the years of service variable, in favor of teachers with less experience (less than 10 years .(Recommendations: The need to train teachers on integrating AI technologies into geography labs and updating curricula to keep pace with the digital transformation.
