Arabic Reception and Representation of Critical Discourse Analysis Linguistically

Abstract

       The features of deconstruction and critical analysis of discourse, especially the dominant discourse in the Arab heritage, began early, since the first century AH, with attempts by the Mu'tazila and other Islamic sects to present readings and opinions opposing ideological issues with a verbal approach and special contexts that disintegrated the prevailing ideology. This flame was soon extinguished by extremism and the entry of Arab and Islamic countries into eras of cultural isolation and backwardness. Then it began to appear again by the influence of enlightenment and modernity, but Arab researchers were unable to present a unique or special model By critically analyzing the discourse, despite the long intellectual critical experience and its traditional basis, most Arab experiences and research were based on Western approaches, and some of them were even fabricated from these approaches without indicating the reasons for taking them as a specific aspect or pillar of each theory or approach without the rest of the elements of that approach It is noteworthy that Faircliff's approach was the most employed in these writings, perhaps for its social aspect and linking social practices to discourse and text, despite the importance of other approaches, especially Fodak's approach based on framing and employing intertextuality in building the structure of dominant texts, and Van Dyck's cognitive – social approach, which is also linked to his textual and semantic studies; Therefore, we see the necessity of not limiting ourselves to a single approach in analyzing dominant texts, but rather choosing the most appropriate one for each discourse, especially since Arab political discourse, as well as media discourses, have their own distinct and different elements and contexts that differ from other discourses, Our research effort has focused on highlighting the aspects of the reception of critical theory in analyzing the dominant discourse (the discourse of authority) and its representations in Arab studies , As for presenting a proposed approach to analyzing the dominant discourses, it is one of what we recommend through an independent study that subjects a political discourse or discourses specific to a specific time and personalities in order to analyze them critically according to a model that is closest to the spirit of the text under study, while emphasizing the importance of the elements of the Fodak and Van Dijk approaches in that analysis.
