Guidance Work In University Education: An Analysis of Obstacles And Solutions

Abstract
This research paper aims to identify the obstacles facing educational counselors in universities during their counseling work, and to identify ways to address these obstacles. The researchers reached the following set of conclusions:
1. There is a shortage of specialized personnel to work in counseling units and divisions in Iraqi universities.
2. There is a lack of sufficient interest from officials in counseling units and their work, and a lack of cooperation between classroom counselors and the unit.
3. Students' lack of awareness and knowledge of the counseling process and the nature of its role, which renders the work of counseling units routine and ineffective.
- Guidance work plays a role in improving the educational process and achieving academic and scientific excellence.
