Guidance Work In University Education: An Analysis of Obstacles And Solutions

Abstract

This research paper aims to identify the obstacles facing educational counselors in ‎universities during their counseling work, and to identify ways to address these ‎obstacles. The researchers reached the following set of conclusions:‎

‎1. There is a shortage of specialized personnel to work in counseling units and ‎divisions in Iraqi universities.‎

‎2. There is a lack of sufficient interest from officials in counseling units and their work, ‎and a lack of cooperation between classroom counselors and the unit.‎

‎3. Students' lack of awareness and knowledge of the counseling process and the ‎nature of its role, which renders the work of counseling units routine and ineffective.‎

1. Guidance work plays a role in improving the educational process and achieving academic and scientific excellence.
