Abstract

This research addresses a contemporary issue: the integration of digital technologies into art education. It focuses on measuring the effectiveness of using the PicsArt program in developing visual intelligence among learners. Digital art is the product of an interactive creative process that combines elements of artificial intelligence, virtual space, and the creative self. Visual intelligence is defined as "an individual's ability to accurately perceive the visual-spatial world, encompassing the ability to visualize, represent, and direct spatial ideas within a spatial matrix. The research problem stems from the central question: What is the effectiveness of the PicsArt program in developing visual intelligence among students? The research objectives include identifying the capabilities of the PicsArt program in digital design and drawing, exploring its use as a supportive educational tool in the classroom, measuring students' level of visual intelligence. (a type of intelligence related to recognizing shapes and relationships, paying attention to detail), and statistically verifying the program's effectiveness in developing visual intelligence after its application to the research sample   The researcher employed a single-group experimental design, a suitable design for studies that aim to measure the independent variable (PicsArt) on the dependent variable (visual intelligence) of the same sample. The current research population consists of fifth-grade preparatory students from academic and vocational schools affiliated with the Baghdad General Directorate of Education (Karkh 1 & 2) for the academic year 2025-2026. The population comprises 150 students (male and female) distributed across three schools, with six classes in each school. The age group is characterized by similarities, ranging from 16 to 17 years old. Statistical analysis revealed the high effectiveness of the PicsArt program in improving cognitive achievement and developing visual intelligence among students, as demonstrated by statistically significant differences between the pre- and post- tests.
