The Effectiveness of Teaching Fabric Design in Developing Aesthetic Appreciation and Highlighting the Decorative Beauty of Fashion among Fine Arts Institute Students

Abstract

The present study aims to identify the effectiveness of teaching fabric design in developing aesthetic appreciation and enhancing the decorative beauty of fashion among students of Fine Arts Institutes.

The researcher adopted an experimental method using a two-group design (experimental and control) with pre-test and post-test. The sample consisted of (60) female students from the Fine Arts Institute, randomly divided into two groups: (30) students in the experimental group and (30) in the control group.

Two instruments were used:

1. Aesthetic appreciation scale


2. Decorative beauty evaluation checklist

The validity of the instruments was verified through expert judgment, and reliability was calculated using Cronbach’s Alpha and inter-rater agreement.

The experiment lasted for (8 weeks), during which the experimental group was taught using modern teaching methods in fabric design, while the control group was taught using traditional methods.
