Collision in pre-Islamic poetry
Main Article Content
Abstract
Arabic poetry in general and pre-Islamic poetry in particular witness many shining examples of poets clashing with the lords of political, social and religious power. Individual or collective must not have specific ceilings. An explanation of this is what we find in many pre-Islamic poems, so that the collision is almost a phenomenon in the course of our poetry and poets throughout the ages.
In pre-Islamic poetry, we find clear and explicit indications of this collision between poets and the forces of tribal and political control, so the research was divided into two directions. The first direction is the confrontational relationship between the creator and the tribal and political authority, and the second direction is the confrontational relationship with social values. Where the first trend was represented by a number of poets, including Tarfa bin Al-Abd, as their poems constituted a hymn to the confrontational relations between poets and power.
The second trend was represented by the poets of the tramps, as the social structure contributed to deepening the sharp differences between the social classes, which prompted the emergence of it as a social phenomenon.
Both phenomena had a clear impact on the poetry of poets through their meanings, purposes, and artistic manifestations.
