Publication Guidelines – Journal of the College of Basic Education
The Journal of the College of Basic Education publishes high-quality research in the fields of science, humanities, education, and psychology. Submissions must adhere to recognized scientific research methodologies and follow internationally accepted standards. Researchers are expected to maintain the highest level of academic integrity and proper scholarly practice in all aspects of their work.
1. Scope and Originality
The journal accepts original research articles that have not been previously published or accepted for publication elsewhere. Authors bear full legal responsibility for any violations of this rule.
Research submitted by Arab and international researchers outside Iraq is published free of charge, promoting academic and cultural collaboration globally.
2. Academic Integrity and Citation Policy
Authors must follow strict standards of academic honesty, including proper use of quotations and references from books, journals, international databases, and AI platforms.
All sources must be accurately cited according to international guidelines. Only directly relevant works should be cited; unjustified self-citation or preferential citation is prohibited.
Authors must comply with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) recommendations and the journal’s citation policies to prevent any form of manipulation or coercive citation.
3. Manuscript Structure and Formatting
Research must follow the journal’s approved structural template.
Each manuscript must include an abstract in both Arabic and English, with a maximum of 200 words per language, covering:
Significance of the research
Rationale for choosing the topic
Research problem
Objectives and main hypotheses
Scope, population, and sample
Data collection methods
Statistical tools used
Key findings and recommendations
The title and reference list must be provided in both Arabic and English.
Footnotes should follow APA style: (Author, Page, Year).
Keywords should be included in both Arabic and English (3–6 words).
Author details must be provided in both Arabic and English, including name, academic title, specific specialization, affiliation, email, and phone number. For co-authored research, written consent from all co-authors is required.
4. Manuscript Length and Fees
Humanities research should not exceed 25 pages, including references, tables, figures, and appendices.
Scientific research is limited to a maximum of 15 pages.
All submissions must meet the following requirements.
This article has not been previously published, and it has not been submitted to another scientific journal for consideration (or there is a clarification on this matter provided to the editorial board in the comments section)
The researcher provides an electronic copy, and the font type is Times New Roman for Arabic and English, font size is (14), the main title is in bold (16), and the margin and sources are in font size (12) with footnotes of 2.5 cm above, below and on both sides of the page.
